5 Tips for Better Rucking

LAST CALL — our Downtown Lee’s Summit Warrior Ruck is going down this Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 8am. Drop a comment or reply with the word “RUCK” and I’ll send you the full details.

We’re hitting the streets of Downtown Lee’s Summit for a guided ruck — and you’re invited.

Meet at: FVT Warrior Wellness
208 SE 2nd Street, Lee’s Summit, MO

Bring: A backpack loaded with 20–30 lbs (books, water bottles, sandbags — whatever you’ve got)

We’ll ruck through the streets, stop for bodyweight drills at intervals, and finish strong together — warrior-style.

No cost. No pressure. Just show up.

Now — if you’re new to rucking, here are 5 quick tips to help you get more out of it:

  1. Use a backpack or military-style ruck — one that fits close to your body and won’t bounce all over the place.
  2. Wear boots or runners — train in what you’ll actually use.
  3. March with purpose — this isn’t a stroll. Get your heart rate up to the 120–150 range.
  4. Choose uneven terrain if possible — trails, stairs, and hills all add challenge and real-world benefit.
  5. Pack smart — if you’re using hard objects like weights, wrap them in towels or a pillow so they don’t beat up your back.

LAST CALL — Saturday at 8am. Let’s go.
