[vid] Bench + Deadlift Workout / “Mini Workshop” – Saturday, 9am @ FVT Pocket / Greenhaven

You are invited to the lifting session we are doing THIS SATURDAY, 9am, at FVT Pocket / Greenhaven!

If you’re interested, just let me know by replying to this message, and I’ll send you all the info.

This is a great chance for you to come out, get a workout, and a mini-workshop.

We are going to deadlift and bench press.

If you are working out now but want to take it to the next level, this is for you.

If you want to gain some strength and blast through your plateau, this is for you.

The cost is a one-time payment of $35. We we will do the workout, as well as a lot of instruction.

I never knew how to do a lot of the stuff I will be teaching in the first 15-20 years of my lifting career. When I finally learn proper technique, my gains went thru the roof, and my injuries decreased!

I am also going to give you a little bonus program when you sign up. It’s not available anywhere else. It’s a barbell basics program, so that you can take what you learned, and add these lifting days into your routine – the RIGHT way – and take your results to the next level.

This Saturday, Sept 15th, 2018 at FVT Pocket / Greenhaven.

If you’re interested, just let me know by replying to this message, and I’ll send you all the info.

Thanks!

Lift with Forest – this Saturday, 9am @ Rush River Drive

ATTN – you are invited to this special, last minute workout this Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at 9am!

If you want a spot, just reply to this message, say “I’m in!”, and we’ll go from there.

(I am going to be at the Pocket location leading the 8am boot camp workout this Saturday, so have decided to do this special session while I am there.)

People have been asking about this for a quite some time, so I am excited to be able to do it.

If you have a base level of fitness, but maybe have plateaued a bit, and want to take your strength to the next level, this is for you.

If you want a spot, just reply to this message, say “I’m in!”, and we’ll go from there.

You will get a great workout, and it will also be a great preview of what we do in our “Lean and Jacked” program.

Space is limited to 6. Cost to participate is a one-time payment of $35.

We will go a full 60 minutes – quick warm up, about 25 mins on the deadlift, and about 25 mins on the bench press.

It will be a workout PLUS instructional. So you will learn some tips and tricks on these lifts to help you do them more safely and effectively. Plus it will be a great “test drive” if you want to see what the Lean and Jacked program is like.

Kind of like a workout plus a “mini workshop”

I am even going to include a digital copy of the previously unreleased “FVT Barbell Basics program – Phase 1” for everyone who signs up. It is specifically designed to get you started with lifting, as an ADDITION to your existing HIIT – type program. This way if you want to take what you learn at the workshop and do it on your own, you can.

If you want a spot, just reply to this message, say “I’m in!”, and we’ll go from there.

Thanks! –

A scrappy, scraggly tree

Sometimes you see trees thriving in the most perfect environments.

Good soil, good sun, good water.

And you think – “Wow, that’s beautiful – perfect water, a perfect tree!”

But then, a strong wind comes, or something else happens, and the truth is, those trees blow over pretty easily.

Then you take a tree that survives in a harsh, barren enviornment. Where there is snow and sleet and very little soil.

And you see these epic trees that hang in there and survive, and THRIVE – despite of all these hardships.

When WE are going though times – in your physical health, or in other areas of your life – I think this is SO important to remember.

That we WILL come out stronger as a result.

Keep grinding and pushing and stay with it.

That when we face new Challenges, compared to what we’ve experienced before, that they will seem EASY in comparison.

You can do this!!

I want YOU to be our next success story

Today, I was looking through the client success stories on our website, here:

https://www.forestvancetraining.com/category/client-success-stories

And I was thinking about what our clients who have gotten the best results over the years, have done to make it happen.

The #1 thing is desire, readiness, passion, whatever you want to call it – to CHANGE. They are fed up with their current situation – whether they have gained 10 or 20 or 30 pounds and they are fed up and ready to do what it takes to change … whether they visit the doctor and have a health scare … maybe someone even makes a rude comment that’s the final straw … whatever it is, they are COMMITTED and READY to DO WHAT IT TAKES.

#2, they show up consistently to work out over a period of a few months to years. #1 takes care of the motivation to make this happen – but this is part of the process.

#3, they focus on cleaning up their diet in ADDITION to regular workouts. Many times starting with a Challenge – like we have starting next week – helps get habits in place. Then, they commit a plan an stick to it for a period of a few months to years.

Now all of this is NOT necessarily EASY – but it IS simple. Good news is, if you are ready – if you have #1 – we can help you with #2 and #3 🙂

If you read this article and thought – ME! I am ready to change. Just tell me what to do Forest, and I’ll do it.

Make TODAY the first day. Contacting us HERE is the first step. We’ll touch base, figure out the best plan of attack, and go from there.

I want to hear from you!

What size kettlebell is right for you?

Are you getting started with a new KB program, and wondering what size ‘bell is right for you?

(By the way … if you ARE looking to get started with KBs … this is PERFECT TIMING … because our 28 Day Fall 2018 Transformation Challenge kicks off next week!)

Let me break it down for you with a short personal story.

It was 2006 … I had heard of kettlebells, but had never actually used one … and my training partner at the time brought in his 35 pound kettlebell to use with our workout for the day.

I was fairly strong at the time (and still am!) … I was probably benching around 350, squatting 425 or 450, and deadlifting around 500 … and I thought, what is a little 35 pound weight going to do for me?!?

BOY was I wrong. We got a couple of minutes into the little KB-based finisher he had planned for the end of our workout, and I was SMOKED!

I couldn’t believe how I got a strength and cardio workout at the same time, and how much more efficient it was than anything else I had really done up to that point.

I was hooked right away! – and 12 years later, my love for kettlebells still grows fonder every day ????

And so – as far as weights I would recommend when you start – I would say:

– 35 pound for the average, fairly active, but KB-uninitiated man
– 18 pound for the average, fairly active, but KB-uninitiated woman

Then, as you learn the moves, get your technique down, and get a little stronger, I’d probably have men pick up a 53 pound, and women pick up a 35 pound.

Then you’d have two ‘bells – which would be perfect for doing different exercises (you’re probably going to use a heavier weight for swings that you are Turkish get ups), and challenging you in different ways.

Of course – everyone is different, and starts at different places, and there are a lot of possible variables that come into play – but this is a general good starting point.

If you are getting started with kettlebell training, and have been wondering what weight is right for you, I hope this helps.

To your success! –
