1200 Calorie Diets: 3 Reasons They’re Doomed To Fail

If you’re trying to eat healthier or lose weight, you’ve probably been on a diet or two in your lifetime. And while you may have seen some success in the short-term, chances are you eventually reverted back to your old eating habits.

One popular approach is the 1200 calorie diet. This diet plan involves eating no more than 1200 calories per day, and is often recommended as a rapid and effective way to lose weight.

However, in our experience, working with thousands of personal training clients over the last 17 years, we’ve seen this plan fail time and time again. Here are a few reasons why:

1 – You’ll Constantly Be Hungry

you’ll be miserable the whole time you’re on it. 1200 calorie diets are simply too restrictive to be sustainable, and you’ll end up being hungry all the time.

1200 calories is simply not enough to sustain a human being, and you will find yourself feeling constantly hungry. Not only that, but you will also likely be cranky and irritable. This is because when you’re hungry, your body is lacking the nutrients it needs to function properly.

2 – You’re More Likely To Cheat

Cutting your calorie intake so dramatically is bound to leave you feeling hungry and deprived. It’s only a matter of time before you give in to your cravings and start overeating.

Additionally, 1200 calorie diets are often too restrictive, making it hard to stick to them for more than a few days or weeks. If you’re constantly feeling hungry and deprived, you’re not going to be very happy. And if you’re not happy, you’re not going to stick to your diet.

3 – You Might Not Be Getting Enough Nutrients

If you’re on a 1200 calorie diet, chances are you’re not getting enough nutrients. And if you’re not getting enough nutrients, you’re going to feel fatigue, irritability, and a whole host of other negative side effects.

A 1200 calorie diet might help you lose weight in the short term, but it’s not sustainable in the long term. You need to make sure you’re getting enough vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients in order to stay healthy. Otherwise, you’re just setting yourself up for failure.

The bottom line is that 1200 calorie diets are not sustainable in the long run. You might be able to lose weight in the short term, but you very well may end up gaining it all back – plus more! If you really want to lose weight and keep it off, you need to make the lifestyle changes so that you can lose the weight in a healthy and sustainable way and keep it off for good. The Ugly Truth About Eating Nuts If You Want To Lose Weight

Nuts are often touted as being a healthy snack option, especially if you’re trying to lose weight.

But the truth is, nuts are not as healthy as you might think. In fact, they can actually be quite harmful to your weight loss efforts!

You see, nuts are calorie-dense, and can easily lead to weight gain if you consume too many of them. For example – just two “handfuls” (2 oz total, 1 oz per handful) of almonds has 330 calories and 28 grams of fat.

Are these “healthy fats”? Yes! However, if our goal is weight loss, we need to get into a CALORIE DEFICIT first and foremost… and since nuts are very calorie dense food, it’s very easy to eat too many of them and sabotage your efforts. There are many other healthier snacks you can choose from that will help you reach your weight loss goals.

For example, better choices for snacks when trying to lose body fat include:

– Sliced raw veggies
– Sliced apples
– Popcorn with minimal seasoning
– Lower / no sugar Greek yogurt; add berries etc
– Hard boiled egg
– Home-made protein bars

Little things like this can make all the difference. Let us help you make more small tweaks to your diet so you can drop a size or more in 28 days!

Stay tuned, registration for our Fall 28-day Drop a Size Challenge opens soon.

the “Healthiest” Fast Food Choices: You’re Still Eating Garbage

We all know that fast food is bad for us. But sometimes, we just don’t have the time to cook a healthy meal. When that happens, we turn to fast food. But what are the “healthiest” fast food choices?

Unfortunately, even the “healthiest” fast food choices are still bad for you. They’re high in calories, fat, and sodium. And they’re usually processed and full of chemicals. So, next time you’re in a hurry, think twice before you order that “healthy” fast food meal.

If you absolutely must eat fast food, here are some of the “healthiest” choices you can make:

  • Burger with no cheese or mayo
  • Plain grilled chicken sandwich
  • Garden salad with grilled chicken
  • Fruit cup

If you’re looking for truly healthy options though, you’re better off cooking at home or packing a lunch from home. There are plenty of healthy recipes out there that are easy to make and don’t require a lot of time or effort. And, if you’re not into cooking, there are plenty of healthy prepared meals that you can find at your local grocery store.

It’s official: if you’re eating “healthy” fast food, you’re still eating garbage. While some fast food chains are better than others, none of them are good for your health. If you want more help with your nutrition, stay tuned for the Fall FVT “12 in 12” Challenge where we help you lose up to 12 percent of your bodyweight in 12 weeks – registration opens soon!!
